normalization
Standardize your jobs and scheduler definitions
The compliance of norms and standards is generally the cornerstone of an efficient Information System. Nevertheless, despite their conscientious application, drifts can be introduced by multiple sources: some team modifications, the evolution of the working methods, the integrations of new entities, or the lack of a reliable Production repository.
In order to tackle these anomalies, we accompany our clients throughout their normalization projects by relying on our software solutions to answer every needs of the normalization process : the analyses, the transformations, and even the integration of a Production repository.
Normalization process :
Steps and examples of perimeters
01
Analysis
File
-
Analysis of the files' life cycle (creation, update, deletion and work).
-
Creation of a norm based on the nature of the files (ex: intra-application, temporaries, intra-job, inter-job).
From our experience, the percentage of the Production components respecting the norms and standards is significantly lower than the customer estimates.
02
Modifications

Deletion

The transformation of the existing components is made possible by using our migration tools, personalized during the project to the specifics of the client and the recommendations of our experts.

Industrialization
File
Automatic generation of files envelopes (e.g. GDG base), file system verifications, etc...
E-GEN, our Production repository software, allows the client to guarantee the compliance of the norms, standards and methods of deployments for all the creation and modifications of the components to come, thus avoiding drifts to reappear post-normalization.
Normalization projects
done by ISC
BNPP PF
Project "Job Unique"
Target : Merging the variations of jobs by country in single descriptions of "base jobs" within the Production repository.

Impacts : Complete re-normalization of the workloads, jobs and files names due to abnormal differences introduced in each country. Instantiation of steps within the components in order to accommodate normal differences, specific to a target.

In numbers : Creation of 1336 unique job-chains and 22766 unique jobs, able to be automatically adapted when deployed to different countries.
BPCE-IT Natixis
Project "UNITED"
Target : To assimilate a set of external applications into the Natixis information system, while adapting it to the norms and tools of the company.

Impacts : Transformation of CA-7 jobs definitions into IWS applications definitions, change of the applications, jobs and files names according to Natixis norms, adaptation of the steps to use different utilities (file transfer, monitoring, DBMS, etc.).

In numbers : 6900 CA-7 jobs transformed into 388 IWS applications.
